Beautifully crafted doors constructed from secondhand blackbutt and double glazing link the external dining
space to the kitchen and living space inside. The doors have been positioned to capture northern light but to
preserve views into the rear garden. The rear step is constructed of secondhand messmate.

A contemporary kitchen full of warmth through the use of secondhand blackbutt in the island bench. Energy
efficient lighting is carefully positioned to provide good lighting to working spaces. Design of cupboards allows
maximum storage in this casual kitchen/living area.

Northern light fills this kitchen/living/dining/study space. The timber floor is secondhand Baltic Pine and
is full insulated under the floor space. The walls and ceiling are insulated with R2 and R3 recycled polyester
batts respectively. All windows are double glazed, paint finished units constructed from finger jointed pine that
is rated for external durability. This, together with the use of secondhand timber for joinery and the external
doors, has minimized use of old growth forests or managed forest timber within the extension.

garden through a double glazed window. The desk, shelving and dividing joinery are constructed from secondhand
blackbutt. Smart compact fluorescent downlights provide energy efficient task lighting.
