Construction Queen was established in 2000 by Paula Gibson Roy; Catherine Gibson Roy joined as a partner of the firm in 2001. Construction Queen now employs a team of designers with experience in residential, retail and commercial design and project management.

Since its inception Construction Queen has been employed as the designer, ESD consultant and/or project manager on over 100 projects throughout Victoria. The scale of projects range from small home refurbishments and commercial office refurbishments to large scale shopping centre developments and multi unit residential developments.

We offer the services of Green Star Accredited Professional and Accredited Energy Raters.

Paula photo

Paula Gibson Roy has spent over ten years as a project manager on major commercial projects in Melbourne. Her search to move into the area of environmentally sustainable building left her with one option - to start her own business. Paula has a strong commitment to sustainability through good design and believes the fundamental building blocks of sustainability need not be expensive.

Paula holds a Bachelor of Building, Bachelor of Planning and Design, and a Bachelor of Architecture. She is an accredited GreenStar Professional (Green Building Council of Australia) and was a member of the GreenStar Technical Working Group - Retail. Paula is a board member of the Moreland Energy Foundation.

Catherine Gibson Roy often jokes that she joined the business to help do the books and never escaped. Her personal interest in sustainability within a built-up urban environment has kept her interested in the work and she has played an active role in the development of the firm.

Catherine holds a Diploma of Arts, Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and MBA. She is an accredited energy rater, a board member of Sustainable Gardening Australia, and is a past member of the Green Building Council Education Committee.

Jennifer photo

Jennifer Pryce brings with her a desire to research and apply principles of ecologically sustainable design that are project specific but also attainable. Jennifer believes that knowledge and respect for our past is integral to creating a sustainable future. A strong interest in design that is socially responsive and highly flexible also drives her work.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Design Studies and a Diploma of Building Design and Drafting.

Anthony photo

Anthony Wright has a long held interest in sustainable design and has a background in permaculture and natural resource management. He became involved in building design working on a sustainable housing development in East Gippsland.

Anthony holds a Diploma in Design and Construction Technology, is an accredited energy rater and is teaching Environmentally Sustainable Building at NMIT.

Edain photo

Edain Reilly has a long held personal commitment to the goals of environmental sustainability in the built environment and a strong interest in architecture. After a number of years working in marketing, administration and stakeholder communication, she decided it was time for her personal commitment to drive her work goals and returned to study design and drafting.

Edain holds a Graduate Certificate in Business and a Diploma in Building Design and Drafting.
